We believe that what
happens at home is more important than what happens at church. In
Deuteronomy 6:4-9 it says,
|
"These commandments that I give
you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk
about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you
lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind
them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on
your gates."

By God's design, the context
of the family is the best place for kids to learn to love and live for God.
As a church we can’t do your job as a parent but we count it a privilege to
partner with you as you seek to build the faith of your children. We are
only beginning to explore the best ways to do that, but this is what it will
look like this year as we seek to partner with parents:
PC FUSE
This is a once a month event for kids to bring their parents to
(PC—Parent/Child and FUSE stands for Forming a Unique Shared Experience).
One of the main components of this Friday night FUN event is the "shared
experience" of hearing together about the upcoming virtue for the month.
Hearing the same thing together will help open doors to build on the virtue
throughout the month ahead. We will also provide dinner and a fun and
meaningful activity to reinforce the virtue. PC FUSE is the 2nd Friday of
every month from 6-8 p.m.
Scripture Memory as a Family
We will also be encouraging the whole family to take on the Scripture memory
challenge each month. You will receive the verses on a card each month with
the monthly newsletter. Put it in the acrylic holder and keep in on your
dinner table to practice and review. Acrylic holders available at the
ministry counter if you don’t already have one.
All Church Connection
All church connections
happen when ministries within the church are able to partner at different
times during the year to encourage growth in the whole family. Last year, we
worked together to make Thanksgiving Baskets for those in need as well as
work on a giving project in December for one of our ministry partners in the
city.
Short-Term Midweek Opportunities with Parent Partnership
These are classes or event
that meet anywhere from 1—12 weeks at a time for kids and parents offered at
different times throughout the year. It may target different age groups at
different times and take on different formats. Watch for upcoming classes
beginning this fall!
