Nursery, Infants and Toddlers

A safe and nurturing place for babies and toddlers to experience the love of God is provided during the worship and Sunday School hours. Our nursery is staffed with screened adult workers and teen helpers as well as parents who rotate once a month. This gives parents the opportunity to see how the nursery is run, offer suggestions, get to know some of the other children, meet other parents, and help with our staffing needs. The ratio is one person for every 2-3 babies and one for every 3-4 toddlers. 

Check-in Procedures:

Parents are asked to sign their child in, giving written instruction for their child. A two-part sticker with their name is placed on the child and on their diaper bag. Parents are given a pager with a number to take with them in the event that their child needs them. The pager must be returned to pick up your child. We discourage parents from entering the nursery to pick up their child, workers will bring them to the window.

Ages:

Infant Nursery—Infant to walking

Toddler Nursery—Walking to 2 years

We recognize that some of the kids are ready to move out of the nursery into a little more structured time sooner than age two, so we graduate the kids at two different times throughout the year.

In June—The kids who will be two by September 1, can move to the two-year-old room at the start of the summer.

In January—The kids that turned two sometime between September and January 1 are moved to the 2's room as a group, on the first week of January.

Set-up:

We have two nurseries (with adjoining doors). An infant nursery for infants until they walk and a toddler nursery for the walkers until they turn two. The Infant Nursery also has a room for sleeping babies as well as a nursing mom’s room. There is a half door that separates the Infant Nursery from the Toddler Nursery so if either area needs an extra hand, there is one close by.

2's-Kindergarten

Children participate in a loving, nurturing, and age-appropriate environment where they can learn how much God loves them and that the Bible is true. They are taught Biblical truths and principles through storytelling, puppets, music, videos, crafts, games, and play using Gospel Light curriculum. They will experience large group teaching (age 2-5 all together), that includes worship through song, hearing God’s Word and giving in offering as well as classroom time.

This year kids will be learning we have a

GREAT BIG GOD!

as they participate in a loving, nurturing, and age appropriate environment where they can learn about God's love and how it is shown through Jesus. We will also implement the same virtue of the month that the Elementary kids will be focusing on as we encourage families to build on that teaching at home. Along with classroom time, our preschoolers have a 15-20 minute worship time together that includes singing praise to God, the giving of offerings, and the teaching of God’s Word. The Biblical theme carries through both hours. Classes are provided during both hours.
